Dhaka, September 25, 2026: The Department of Pharmacy of City University observed World Pharmacists Day 2026 with enthusiasm and active participation, highlighting the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare and public health. As part of the observance on September 25, 2026, students of the Department of Pharmacy, City University, actively participated in a rally and discussion session held at the National Press Club, Dhaka. The event brought together pharmacists, teachers, researchers, professionals, and representatives from different parts of the country, providing City University students with an opportunity to engage with members of the wider pharmacy community. Representing City University, Nadvi Sir, Advisor of the Society of Bangladeshi Pharmacists (SBP), City University Committee, attended the program. His presence and guidance added significance to the participation of the university's pharmacy students. The program was attended by Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed as the Chief Guest. Among the Special Guests were Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam, Professor Dr. Md. Abdur Rashid, Professor Dr. Mamunur Rashid, Professor Dr. Md. Aslam Hossain, and Professor Dr. Selim Reza, along with distinguished pharmacists, academics, researchers, and professionals from across the country. Hossain Zakaria, Convenor of the Society of Bangladeshi Pharmacists (SBP), was also present at the event, along with other respected members of the pharmacy profession. The discussion focused on the professional dignity, rights, responsibilities, and contributions of pharmacists to the healthcare sector. Various long-standing professional demands and issues concerning the interests of pharmacists were also highlighted, with proposals presented to the relevant authorities for consideration and implementation.
