Ulipur (Kurigram) Representative:International Literacy Day was celebrated in Ulipur on September 8 with a rally and discussion. Upazila Administration and Upazila Non-formal Education Bureau organized this program.

At around 10:30 in the morning, the rally started from the Upazila Parishad square. Later, a discussion meeting was held in the meeting room of the Upazila Parishad. Upazila executive officer ATM Arif presided over it and upazila non-formal education officer Md. Zakir Hossain moderated the program.

Local dignitaries including Assistant Commissioner (Lands) SM Mehedi Hasan, Police Station Officers, representatives of Primary Education, Cooperative and Public Health Engineering Departments participated in the discussion.

Speakers say literacy is not limited to being able to read and write; It also needs to be used in everyday life, digital services, health, financial decisions and civil rights. They called for increasing continuing learning opportunities at the local level for dropout students and adults.
