The traveling court has seized a large quantity of fake milk and harmful materials for its preparation in a raid in Bara Upazila of Pabna. On Monday (September 28) from 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm, the equipment was recovered from the house of Uttam Ghosh and Poli Ghosh in Pechakola Ghat area of ​​the upazila.

Poli Ghosh (35) was fined Tk 1 lakh for his involvement in making fake milk in the operation. The operation was led by Bera Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nuren Mayisha Khan. At that time, the police members of the local police station were present and assisted.

According to the mobile court, Uttam Ghosh and his wife Polly Ghosh of that area had been making adulterated and fake milk with chemicals and harmful materials in their house for a long time. On Monday (September 28) evening, the police and upazila administration started to reach there based on the information received earlier. Later, a large quantity of fake milk stored in large containers was seized from Uttam Ghosh's house. Also seized - palm oil, bleaching powder, chemical gel, baking soda, hot chickpea water, one day cream, skimmed milk and blender machine used in making fake milk.

The court also informed that during the operation, the main owner Uttam Ghosh was not found but his wife Polly Ghosh was arrested. During interrogation, Polly Ghosh admitted that she and her husband were regularly preparing and marketing fake milk mixed with these harmful ingredients. Later, on the basis of witness testimony, seized evidence and confession, Poli Ghosh was fined one lakh taka.

Executive Magistrate and Bara Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Nuren Mayisha Khan, who led the operation in this regard, said that fake milk was being made with chemicals that are very harmful to public health. The accused woman confessed her crime and apologized. Considering the humanitarian aspects of his minor children and elderly mother-in-law, he has been fined Tk 1 lakh instead of imprisonment. However, to ensure safe food for the people and to stop the production and sale of fake milk, our campaign will continue.
