Some farmers have alleged that middlemen have supplied paddy to warehouses in the names of some farmers instead of the actual farmers named in the lottery during Boro season. The target for paddy collection in Ulipur was 2 thousand 294 metric tons and the collection was shown to be 2 thousand 271 metric tons. The allegations were not substantiated in the investigation; So there is no opportunity to make a decision by holding someone responsible.

Kurigram District Food Controller Hamidul Islam said that additional duties have been temporarily given as there is no food inspector in the headquarters warehouse. If a new inspector joins, this system will not exist. He also said that the complaint of irregularity in paddy procurement has come to his notice and necessary action will be taken after investigation.

Farmers demand, list of lottery, details of rice supplier in warehouse, weight and payment account should be published regularly. At the same time, they believe that if the impartial investigation of the complaint is completed and the results are published, the confidence of the real farmers will be restored.
